Routine Cleaning - Use 100% Cotton

Dust Regularly: To maintain the luster and beauty of your live edge wood, it's essential to dust it regularly. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe away any accumulated dust and debris.

Wipe Spills Immediately: Accidental spills can happen. When they do, it's crucial to wipe them up immediately using a soft cloth. This prevents potential stains and protects the wood's finish.

Gentle Cleaning: For more thorough cleaning, use a slightly damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials. A gentle solution of warm water and mild dish soap can be effective for stubborn stains.

Nothing with polyester in the fabric should ever be used.

Protecting Your Live Edge Wood

Avoid Direct Sunlight: Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can discolor your live edge wood. It's best to place your furniture away from windows or other sources of direct sunlight.

Use Coasters and Pads: While live edge wood is durable, it's still susceptible to scratches and dents. Using coasters for drinks and protective pads for hot dishes can help prevent potential damage.

Maintain Consistent Environment: Extreme changes in temperature and humidity can adversely affect wood. It's recommended to keep your live edge wood in a consistent environment, away from direct heat sources and vents.

Special Care Tips

Sealing and Finishing: To enhance the wood's natural beauty and protect it from potential damage, consider applying a sealant or finish. This not only adds a protective layer but also enriches the wood's color and grain.

Avoiding Heat: Never place hot pans or dishes directly on the wood surface. Instead, use trivets or hot pads to prevent potential heat damage.

Felt Pads: For decorative items or heavy objects, consider using felt pads underneath to prevent scratches on the wood surface.

Repair and Maintenance

Scratch Repair: If your live edge wood gets scratched, it's possible to repair it. Depending on the finish, you might need to sand the affected area lightly and then reapply the finish.

Regular Maintenance: Over time, the finish on your live edge wood might wear out. Consider reapplying a finish or sealant every few years to keep your wood looking its best.

Professional Help: If you're unsure about how to care for or repair your live edge wood, consider seeking professional advice or services.

Conclusion

Live edge wood products are more than just furniture; they're a piece of art. With the right care and maintenance, they can remain a beautiful centerpiece in your home for years to come. Remember, the key is regular care, protection from potential damage, and periodic maintenance.
