Craftsmanship & Material Standards

Solid hardwood is a natural material. Grain, color, figure, knots, mineral streaks, live edges and other characteristics vary from piece to piece. Those differences are part of the material—not something we try to make look synthetic or perfectly uniform.

Material Selection

We match material to the intended use, dimensions and visual direction of the project. Exceptional slabs and boards may be selected specifically for statement work, while repeatable stock can be used for production runs where consistency and yield matter more.

Built for the Application

Our work ranges from raw hardwood and machined components to finished custom furniture. The appropriate drying, machining, fabrication and finishing process depends on species, thickness, design and end use.

Natural Wood Movement

Solid wood responds to changes in temperature and humidity. Appropriate construction and finishing help manage movement, but natural dimensional change is an inherent characteristic of real wood.

Project Approval

Custom work is produced to the agreed project specifications. Natural grain, color and live-edge character will vary from samples, photographs and other pieces of the same species.
